You know there was a time when I thought that I'd seen a lot of horror movies. I suppose that, to a point, I actually had. Then along came the 80's. During that entire decade I think I managed to see maybe four of them. Specifically, Dawn of the dead, Phantasm, Friday the 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm St.

The 90's weren't a whole lot better. During the early part of that decade I managed to see a few more but not many. In fact, it wasn't until half way through it that I finally managed to find the second, third and fourth movies in the Nightmare on Elm St series on sale and rented two more of the Friday the 13th movies. Along the way I also got to see the first of the Hellraiser movies and a few others that I can't remember (I guess they weren't all that great if I can't remember them were they?)

In all this time, I haven't ever actually seen Halloween. Oh, I've seen a few bits and pieces of it, mostly in the last year or so on Youtube, however I've never actually sat down and watched the whole thing all the way through and since this movie is considered by many to be such an important part of the horror genre then it only makes sense that I find some way to squeeze out the dollars to get it.

Fortunately it looks like I've finally got the chance! I ought to actually have a copy of it before Christmas and a lead on the rest of the series if it turns out as good as so many people have said it is.
