Truth Is Stranger Than Weird

November 26th, 2010 16:30 pm | by Ed |

In recent weeks I've encountered not one but two people here in Nutjob Hills that were using a sandwich spread in what I considered to be some really unorthodox ways. In talking about this with some of my neighbors I find that they too believe this sandwich spread to be useful in many other ways than as a food item. With all that, I decided to do some time on a search engine and learn more this amazing miracle food.

This apparently aptly named Miracle Whip was first introduced at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair and only seven months later it had become the number 1 salad dressing in the country. I also found out some rather interesting facts about some non-food uses of it.

As a metal polish

Because one of the key ingredients in it is vinegar, you can rub a bunch of it on metal, leave it there for 20 minutes or so, then wipe it off with warm water.

As a facial

You can give yourself a facial and tighten pores by applying it like you would a facial mask. It helps moisten dry skin. Just apply it and leave it on for twenty minutes, then wash it off with warm water followed by cold water.

There's a lot more, like for treating sunburn pain and many other things.

And here I thought it was just the usual Nutjob Hills wackiness!
