Summer Annoyances

June 1st, 2012 20:43 pm | by Ed |

One of the relatively few things that I still find to be a good thing about living here in Nutjob Hills is the fact that the neighborhood I live in has relatively few people with children.

Don't get me wrong, I like children just fine, as long as they eventually go back to their home which is at least a few miles away.

However this summer looks to be one of those in which several families with kids will move in for three or four months as part of their vacation.

The problem with that is the kids these days are up at all hours, making all kinds of racket with their boom boxes, gasoline powered rc remote cars that, for some reason, they frequently like to engage in some rather loud demolition derby type competitions

The thing though that bothers me the most is that these radio controlled demolition derbys take place at two o'clock in the morning and most of the contestants (and spectators) are between the ages of ten and fifteen.

When *I* was that age being out at that hour just didn't happen. Ever.

What' happened to parental responsibility?

It's gone that's what.
