Microsoft Going to Worms

I can tell you that I didn’t like this one right out of the gate and the more I think of it the less I like the idea. I’m talking about a new plan that Microsoft is apparently toying with where they would use a “friendly worm” to spread software fixes. In theory it *might* sound like a good idea but anybody with any sense will agree that its not even in the same neighborhood as a good idea.

All you need is some enterprising genius to figure out how to copy that worm and insert their own “fixes” into it and you’ve got a “worm war” going on.

The only proper thing to do with a worm is to kill the process and delete all of it’s files. Worms are not a tool that can safely be used because the potential for misuse is entirely too great.

The Micro Brains in Redmond need to flush this idea quickly. Haven’t they got enough trouble with vista without adding this nightmare to it?
