… Apparently they are. At least according to recent government data they are. (of course, this article didn’t give any clear details about what data and who gathered this data and where they got it from…. which pretty much turns the whole thing into unsubstantiated heresay in my opinion.)
This thing is also sounding like somebody expects the old landline to go completely out of use and I rather doubt that’s going to happen any time soon. Especially since a lot of those landlines are serving double duty and carrying ADSL Internet connections in addition to standard voice phone lines.
