The polite term for it is “Indentured Servitude”. The Ugly truth of it is called “Slavery”
According to an article on PC Authority, Apple employees are putting together a class action lawsuit that’s claiming Apple denied technical staffers the overtime pay and meal compensation that’s required by state law.
Apparently they’ve got this neat little trick of classifying people as “management employees” so that they don’t have to pay overtime and other benefits that are required for hourly workers.
As of this writing Apple hasn’t responded yet but if the plaintiffs win this suit, it’s going to cost Apple a bundle.
