Google Keeping What Ask.com Erases

December 15th, 2007 22:55 pm | by Ed |

Recently I mentioned having read that Ask.com has come up with something called "AskEraser" that will delete certain user data in the name of privacy. Now there's another article talking about the fact that because Google is providing certain results on Ask.com, they will be keeping copies of the data that Ask will be deleting.

The answer is easy and while it does require the user to do something, it's a little thing. All you need to do is delete certain cookies on a regular basis. With Firefox this is easy. You can either opt to have firefox delete all cookies when you shut down the browser or you can view cookies and delete specific ones. (like ANY from google)
