Do You Actually WANT People To Read Your Site?

January 11th, 2008 19:46 pm | by Ed |

I'm wondering, why would somebody go to the trouble of building a website or blog if they did not want people to read it?

The thing is, a LOT of people appear to not want readers. You can tell by the color schemes they use on the page if they really want you to read it or not. If the text is some kind of light gray color and the background is white or some other light color, then I can only conclude that the writer does NOT want people to read it and has therefore made it difficult to read.

The same goes for small font sizes, anything less than 10 or 12 points is too small to easily read no matter what color it or the background is.

I was going to cite some examples, but I'll save that for the next time I feel like complaining about this little bit of really counterproductive web writing technique.
