Good News For My Next Migraine at

July 17th, 2010 20:07 pm | by Ed |

A while ago I posted about the toothache / migraine problem I've been having over the last few days. One of the things that I have found that helps is to have something that I can put in the DVD player and let run while putting as much of my attention on that as I can manage.

Strangely enough, it seems to help me to at least not have the awareness of the migraine pain at the forefront of my attention. The one problem is that in the last couple of years I've gone through every DVD I have several times. Enough, in fact, to be at the point where I'm getting really tired of seeing some of them.

Oh, they're all good movies & tv shows. It's just that I have seen them so many times that in some cases I can recite the dialog right along with the actors. Something that would help is to find a new something on sale, preferably some tv show with a decent number of episodes. The idea there is that it would take several trips through the entire set to get to the point where I am once again getting tired of it.

Right now, I'm watching Star Trek: Enterprise but that's mostly due to the fact that my laptop and high speed internet connection makes digital video easy to watch.

The only problem with that is when I've got a migraine, I don't want to mess around with the laptop that much. Not only that, but the screen can get way too bright when the migraine is in full swing and I really don't care for using headphones then either (sound is NOT your friend during a migraine! especially up close like that!) and would much rather just put in a DVD and watch it on the tv with the volume at a level I can hear without it nailing me to the wall when something gets a bit louder.
