I Really Need To Go Printer Shopping Someday

October 12th, 2010 11:28 am | by Ed |

I don't really care for having to shop for a printer because it seems that every time I do I have to learn a whole lot of stuff about what printers area available, how they work and the pros and cons of each type for my particular situation. However I find more and more that it's a royal pain in the rear end not having at least one working printer around, which I haven't had since my all time favorite Canon BJC-4300 quit working early last year. Technically speaking, I do have a working printer but it's more of a paperweight because I flat out refuse to spend $35 for ink cartridges that are only going to last for a couple hundred pages at the very most.

I had hoped that maybe, just maybe, I could find another Cannon BJC-4300 on sale somewhere. That way not only could I make use of the 6 ink cartridges I've still got for it but but I would have something that I *KNOW* is reliable and will last for years. Sadly however, I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that this workhorse of a printer has gone the way of the dinosaur.

After a LOT of looking around and comparing features and customer reviews and several cases of sticker shock, I think that this Canon inkjet printer might just be the way to go.

It's got all the features I need, and more actually because I rarely print anything that needs color, and compared to the other printers I've looked at so far, it's very economical both to buy and to keep supplied with ink.
