According to a news item on SFGate, George Lucas is not just considering the possibility of another in the series of successful movies, he’s actually researching ideas looking for just the right thing for Jones to go looking for this time.
You don’t however, need to rush off just yet to look up flight deals to attend (or stand in line outside of) the premier just yet since that elusive “just the right thing” has yet to be found.
The same article also mentioned that Lucas is also still tending to the Star Wars franchise and now that the “Clone Wars” movie is out, there is going to be an animated series on the cartoon network that’s based on the clone war movie. There are also plans for a live-action “Star Wars” TV series as well though no dates have been set yet and the original six Star Wars films will be re-released using new 3-D technology which ought to be interesting. I just hope we don’t need those stupid glasses to see the effect. Those of us with prescription glasses really can’t use them at all well and we get cheated out of the effect almost entirely.

If you’re a fan of Marvel Comics then you already know who Iron Man is. Billionaire Industrialist Tony Stark builds a powered suit of armor to save his own live in a desperate situation. Later when he returns to normal life, he modifies the armor and goes into the superhero business as Iron Man.
I always liked old shell-head because he was a normal human under the suit. Given that armor, anyone could be Iron Man.
One upgrade is the initials for the new one shows the upgrade: Knight Industries Three Thousand. This new version of Kitt is built around the new 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR. I’ll admit that I’m one of those that will always love the look of the old 1982 Pontiac Trans Am but at the same time, this tricked out ’08 ‘stang has got it going on big time.
The article includes a really impressive and thorough list of features in a side by side comparison of the old Kitt vs the new version.
The only question I have is that I wonder if this is going to lead in to a new series…. I hope so.
[edit:.. it turns out there IS going to be a new series. I found this announcement of the Knight Rider relaunch with more details. apparently the movie will air in the fall of 2008.
I think it’s starting to become a trend, a healthy trend at that, where popular things in modern society find themselves competing against Christian based versions of themselves. For example, in order to provide a Christian friendly online equivalent to MySpace, MyChurch.org was created. In spite of the extreme popularity of it’s secular counterpart, MyChurch.org can boast over 77,000 members with over 51,000 blogs and growing.
These days one of the biggest things around is YouTube. You see videos all over the Internet that are hosted there. Now there is GodTube.com, a Christian equivalent of YouTube that is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s got over 25,000 videos already and more are being added every day.
It’s kind of refreshing really, to have a site like that where you can find Christian oriented material without having to sift through YouTube looking for it.
